I’m sure a lot of you are aware of the Rapha Continental project. Selected frame builders are picked and teamed up with a rider to build a bike perfectly matched to them and the Continental rides; long, hard, day rides in some harsh environments on a selection of road surfaces ranging from good to dirt track. Donhou Bicycles was selected as one of the builders and partnered with rider Sam Humpherson from LMNH. More on the bike in separate post though.
I was invited to join the Continental team for the first ride up in Scotland. I’d been wanting to get up that way for a while, but a couple weeks before the trip it dawned on me I may not be in the best shape after a winter of solid frame building and pizza ordered to the workshop. So I stepped on it between building to get the legs spinning and the lungs pumping again..
Two weeks later there we were, up in Scotland on the shores of Loch Assynt for 3 days of thrashing it out in the wind and rain. It really is stunning up there. The awesome video tells it all really. Absolutley amazing riding, wet and windy but it wouldn’t have been Scotland and the Continental if it wasn’t.
A massive thank you to the Rapha guys, for not only giving me the opportunity to build a sweet bike, but also giving me a kick up the arse and make some time between building to do some proper riding again. I fully recommend going riding up there, but do it quick ’cause the midges are on their way!

More on the Donhou Continental bike very soon…
