February 03.13 – Ian’s Tourer
Ian first sent me an email saying that he was after a new touring frame, but nothing he had seen “off the shelf” suited his needs or got him excited.
He wanted a tourer, but one that had a little more tyre clearance so he could run tyres up to 45c for when he hits the bridleways and tracks. It needed to have discs, to be able to carry a load and it needed to be pink!
Built from Reynolds 631, custom Donhou dropouts, full outer cable routing, fillet brazed unicrown fork with dynamo cable routing, brushed stainless head badge and finished in flat pastel pink with some painted flat black hammered mudguards, this is a cool go anywhere tourer.
Ian’s plan is to build it up over the winter months, then strap a crate of Amstel to the back of it and spend the summer riding through the Alps… Happy riding!
