Some of you may remember the Trans Epping. An epic adventure race that took in road, gravel, single track, river crossings, multiple check points and took half an hour and finished at the pub?? Yes this is Micro Adventure racing! It was a lot of fun and now Donhou Store are hosting the next stage of the world tour - The Athens Divide.

The race format is simple, adventure racing on a micro scale, suitable for all. This time the racing will take on some of Athens incredible urban gravel. This will feature multiple check points, road, gravel and single track, there will even be some hike a bike! There is a suggested route for people that are joining more for the adventure, rather than the racing. Or if you're racing, get smart and pick a route that works best for you and your bike.

Yes, all kinds of bikes and rider ability welcome, there will even be a 'most inaproriate bike' award in keeping with the fun ethos of the event. Obviously a gravel, CX or MTB will be most suited, but don't count a road bike out (just be a good runner/pusher and enjoy getting into the spirit of under biking!). I've heard whispers someone's coming on their cargo bike.... Finish will be in central'ish Athens and there will be cold beers waiting for finishers too!

Here's the details in short:

So dust down the adventure machine (whatever it may be) and we'll see you on the start line!

Importantly we will be raising money to be donated to help with areas affected by wildfires here in Greece. With Parnitha burning again this summer, as cyclists we can take action to protect and manage the environment that is so important to us, Athens and the world. We've partnered with Save Your Hood to help with their efforts to clean up and manage the green areas of Athens and Attica, as well as to help them continue their social and political activism. You can donate here.
